How the Clarity II Works

Clarity II uses ultra‑precise dual wavelengths to selectively target hair, pigmented lesions and vascular structures without damaging surrounding skin. The laser’s advanced cooling system ensures a comfortable experience while delivering energy at precisely the right depth for fast, effective results. Most clients love Clarity II because it offers noticeable improvements, often with no social downtime, making it ideal for busy schedules.

What can I expect?

  • A mild to medium heat and snapping sensation. Hair removal can produce more intense heat, depending on the area, thickness and color of the hair. A Zimmer chiller is used during all treatments to help dissipate any resulting heat.

  • Redness for 30 to 90 minutes following a session.

  • With pigment removal, brown spots darken before flaking off after 4-7 days.

  • Vessels can disappear, or darken and fade over 1 to 3 weeks.

  • Acne inflammation calms quickly, often within days. A series of 4-6 weekly sessions is most beneficial to control the bacteria that often perpetuates acne.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does it hurt?

Most clients describe a hot "rubber band snap",  but find most areas very tolerable.

  • Can I wear makeup afterward?

Yes. Makeup may be applied once any initial pinkness fades. That will differ depending on the service you are receiving, typically between 2 to 4 days following a service. Make sure to consult with us about this.

  • Will my sunspots peel After a treatment?

Pigmented spots will flake when cared for properly. Other larger or deeper keratoses, can take longer to heal, and will definitely peel more noticeably, often resulting in pinker skin underneath.

  • How many sessions will I need?

Depending on your concerns, clients typically need 6+ sessions for hair removal, 1–3 sessions for pigment work and 2–5 sessions for vascular concerns.

  • What is the difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal?

We can fortunately, offer two permanent solutions! There’s the time-honored method of electrolysis, which has been around for well over 120 years, and then the use of lasers for the destruction of hair. Laser removal is effective; however, the ideal client group is a bit more limited to individuals with preferrably darker, coarse hair and fair skin. Because of the Clarity II's dual wavelength system, we have had plenty of success with darker-skinned individuals!

Electrolysis, on the other hand, has no limitations when it comes to skin color, treatment area, or hair type. Therefore, when these two methods are used in conjunction with one another, they create an unbeatable duo. Bare + Brilliant is unique in our ability to be able to take care of all your hair removal needs from start to finish! With 44 years of combined experience, no one knows hair removal better than we do. Call or email us today, and you’ll be on your way to softer, smoother, hair-free skin!

  • Why does hair removal require multiple treatments?

Hair has three stages of growth: Anagen (the actively growing phase), Catagen (the resting stage), and Telogen (the dying stage). Successful hair removal can only occur during the Anagen phase of growth. That “window of opportunity” varies across different areas of the body. Only a small percentage of hair is actively growing at any given time. Consecutive sessions must be strategically planned so that as much hair as possible can be “caught” in the proper stage.

  • What type of hair is best suited for each method?

Electrolysis is color-blind and can be used on any hair—dark or light, coarse or fine—anywhere on the body. Laser effectiveness is directly related to a person’s hair and skin color. The ideal scenario for laser success is dark, coarse hair and fair skin. With the advanced technologies available today, darker skin tones can also be treated.

  • Which method is more effective, electrolysis or laser hair removal?

Because laser treatment depends on hair and skin color, under ideal conditions, some individuals can experience 90%–100% clearance. The lighter the hair or the darker the skin, the lower the expected success rate. Electrolysis, however, has the potential for 100% success. The downside is the time and number of sessions required, as it treats one hair at a time. For those with gray, blonde, or red hair, electrolysis is often the only option. For many people with both dark and light hair, a combination of the two methods is unbeatable.
